The York Daily Record/Sunday News has unveiled its 2009 Div. II girls' soccer all-stars.

CO-PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

Ashley Chilcoat, Susquehannock: Chilcoat helped the Warriors' offense with 11 goals and five assists this season, upping her career totals to 42 goals and 22 assists. The junior played mainly center midfielder for the Warriors, making her stats even more impressive. "Ashley has a dominant presence on the field," coach Erica Warren said. "Other teams need to adjust their play around Ashley."

Chilcoat notched an assist in the Warriors' 2-1 victory over York Suburban, which handed the Trojans their first division loss.
Jordan Snook, Kennard-Dale: The three-year starter took the Rams to uncharted territory this past season. After being shut out in all of its previous district trips, Snook helped her squad bring home its first district playoff victory, a 2-1 decision over Northern Lebanon. Snook's 24 goals helped Kennard-Dale to the Div. II crown, and her 50 career goals sits just 15 shy of the Rams' all-time mark.

ALL-STARS

Molly Holden, Susquehannock: The sophomore defensive specialist took all the goal kicks, corner kicks and most free kicks for the Warriors, who finished fourth in a competitive division where second, third and fourth were separated by one point. Holden also contributed four assists.

Kerchner, York Suburban:
The senior defender was assigned to cover the opposing teams' top scorers as she is "an excellent 1-on-1 defender," coach Tom Shugars said. Kerchner scored one goal and assisted on two others as the Trojans finished third in the division.
Stevi Laird, York Suburban: Shugars described his senior midfielder as "the heart and soul" of the Trojans. Laird scored five goals and recorded eight assists. She ended her career in the top 10 in goals, assists and points in York Suburban's history. This was Laird's second straight all-star honor.
Molly Malloy, York Suburban: The sophomore forward had a breakout year for the Trojans, scoring nine goals and assisting on one other. Malloy's two goals against Northeastern in a regular-season matchup helped the Trojans roar back from a two-goal deficit for a 3-2 victory.
Devon Moynihan, Kennard-Dale: Moynihan's play in goal was a big reason the Rams won their first district game this season. Moynihan kept Northern Lebanon out of the net during the first half of the Class AA game, giving her teammates enough time to kickstart the offense for a 2-1 victory.
Amelia Qualters, Northeastern: Her play made an impression on opposing coaches -- Biglerville's Les Heggan called Qualters an "excellent passer and solid soccer player."
Sarah Sumner, Kennard-Dale: Highlights from Sumner's season include a goal just 23 seconds into a regular-season game against Dover, plus two assists in the 5-1 victory.
Becca Varney, West York: The midfielder set a school record for assists with 10 before a season-ending injury took her off the field before the postseason. "Becca was the point guard, she ran the offense for us," coach Brett Maxwell said.
Kate Zech, West York:Zech found the back of the net 21 times this season, breaking her own season scoring record of 19. She scored more than half of the Bulldogs' goals. "She's just our offensive presence all the time," Maxwell said during the season. "We can be getting dominated in a game, and she can go and score a goal. She just has that ability."

Honorable mention: Danielle Schleig, Northeastern; Ashley Schleig, Northeastern; Macy Marcucci, York Suburban; Kelsey Stanley, Kennard-Dale; Mariah Smith, Kennard-Dale; Amanda Kelso, Kennard-Dale; Chelsea Roughsedge, Kennard-Dale; Kate Lantz, Kennard-Dale; Lindsey Myers, Dover; Megan Eldredge, Dover; Casey Almoney, Dover; Bre Schlemmer, West York; Amanda Sweitzer, West York.
