The other game had a total of 23 goals.
By the end of Thursday's District 3 girls' lacrosse quarterfinal doubleheader at Susquehannock High School, both Kennard-Dale and York Catholic came up short on the scoreboard.
No. 2-seeded Kennard-Dale posted nine goals in a high scoring first half against No. 10 Lancaster Country Day but just six in the second half of a 19-15 season-ending defeat.
In the nightcap, No. 4 York Catholic led by three at halftime, before No. 12 Penn Manor gained momentum in the second half and held off the Irish, 12-11.
Lancaster Country Day advances to Tuesday's semifinal against Cocalico, and Penn Manor plays Manheim Township in the other semifinal.
Penn Manor (13-7) fought back from a 7-4 halftime deficit to tie the game at 8-all on Emily Eddowes goal with 17:16 to play. Eddowes led the Comets attack with four goals.
"Emily is such a smart player," Comets head coach Kim Marsh said. "When it's tough times, she's the one that gets the ball. She's able to place the shot even when there is pressure."
After trading goals to make it 9-9 with 13:53 to play, Penn Manor scored two goals in a little more than a minute to take an 11-9 lead with 7:36 remaining.
York Catholic's (16-4) Dana Amalfitano scored with 6:38 to play to close the gap to one, but Eddowes found the back of the net again to move the lead back to two goals.
The Irish's Alexis China scored with 1:26 to play, but that was the final goal of the game as the Comets kept possession the final 86 seconds of the game to run the clock out.
"Give a lot of credit to their defense," Irish head coach Rob Linthicum said. "They just took us out of the game. Their pressure is relentless. That's one of the most aggressive defenses we faced all season."
Catholic scored seven first-half goals, including a 6-0 run at one point. The Irish led 7-4 at halftime.
"We played the game at our tempo," Linthicum said of the first half. "We seemed to be getting more draw controls early on. We were able to settle it and run our offense.
"We felt like we could hit our cutters all day long. But, the problem is, in the second half when they pressured the ball out, my feeders couldn't get a good look at the cutters."
The Irish were led by China and Lindsay Ingram, who each scored three goals. Goalie Alana Pietra made eight saves.
Penn Manor goalie Lauren Ali finished with six saves.
In Thursday's first game, Lancaster Country Day freshmen Kelly Daggett stole the show with eight goals and two assists.
Cougars (16-5) junior Jayme Verman scored six and assisted on two others as the Comets, who led 14-9 at halftime, held off the Rams in the second half.
"I thought I had a good warm-up, and the first five minutes we felt strong and our lead stayed the whole time," Daggett said. "The (eight goals) is a pretty good day for me."
Kennard-Dale head coach Kelly Wetzel knew of Verman and Daggett.
"We knew that 85 to 90 percent of the offense went through them," he said. "Daggett is fast as anything, she's a good player."
The Cougars led by as many as five in the first half, with Daggett scoring six of the 14 Country Day goals in the first 25 minutes.
In the second half, the Rams (19-2) closed within 15-13 with 16:13 left on Lyndsey Duty's goal, which capped a 4-1 K-D run.
That was as close to the lead the Rams would get. Katie Fonte led K-D with four goals and three assists.
Madalyn Stover made 14 saves for the Cougars, and Alley Storke stopped eight for the Rams.
