Mercersburg Academy took 3 senior wrestlers to the National Prep Tournament at Lehigh on Friday and all 3 were eliminated with 1-2 records on the first day It was the first time since 2006 that the Blue Storm did not have a national place winner C.J. Sarao (138 pounds) earned a major decision in the first round, but lost 6-2 in the next round and his first consolation bout, 13-6, after falling behind 9-0 At 170, Mark Meloro pinned the New York state prep champion in the first round, but was pinned in the next round and defaulted in his final match Ayo Adjibaba (of Chambersburg) lost to the No. 4 seed at 195, earned a win in the consolations, then was eliminated in his third bout Josh Abele, a sophomore, qualified for the event, but defaulted before wrestling a match "It's tough to finish your season like this, but I'm proud of the guys and their effort," Mercersburg coach Nate Jacklin said. "It's an achievement just to make it to this level."
