LEWISTOWN - The Chambersburg girls basketball team trailed by just one point at halftime.

"I told the girls, 'Any loose balls, we need to have blue on the floor after it,' and they came out and Tayana Harrison got on the floor the first play for a loose ball to give us possession," Trojan coach Jenny Schmutzler said.

Although the Trojans (4-13, 2-10 MPC) fell short in the second half of Tuesday night's Mid Penn Commonwealth Dvision game, falling 56-47 to Mifflin County, Schmutzler praised her girls.

"I feel like we can walk away with a lot of positives," Schmutzler said. "We did our best job working the ball around, creating open looks with nice passes. I think our 10 assists is probably the most we've had all season. It stinks to have to walk away with a loss, but I think those are positives."

Darra Walker continued her strong play at point guard, not only scoring 17 points but sending along four passes for assists.

"I think she did a good job running the offense," Schmutzler said. "She got her shots but also got the rest of the team involved as well, which is just what we've tried to work on with her all year."

Four of the five Huskies who scored finished in double digits. Olivia Halfpenny led the way with 15 points as part of the win for Mifflin County (9-8, 5-7 MPC).

The Huskies couldn't slow Marshay Ryan though, who compiled another double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds.

"Marshay was all over the place; she always is," Schmutzler said. "You ask somebody to hustle and she's going to hustle times 10 for you, and that gets the rest of the girls going."
