MARION - Kristin Blank had a productive night on offense to lead Shalom Christian to a 5-1 Mason-Dixon Christian Conference first-round playoff victory over rival Cumberland Valley Christian on Tuesday evening.
The Flames will play at Calvary Christian on Thursday in the MDCC girls soccer semifinals.
"Hopefully this will give us some confidence," Shalom coach Pete Holdaway said. "Calvary is the only league team we have yet to beat this year."
Blank poured in three goals for the Flames (9-7), who led 3-1 at halftime, Kamry Baum had one and Ashlyn Blank kicked in the final score.
"Ashlyn and Kristin played well on offense today," Holdaway said. "Ashlyn's goal was from about 25 yards out. It was a beautiful shot into the far corner."
For the Blazers (2-9-1), Laiton Suders scored the goal, coming with just 25 seconds left before the end of the first half.
