If nothing else, the Northeastern Bobcats football team has picked up on one lesson of YAIAA Division II football.

Don't kick to West York's Brandon Real.

Real had scored four special teams touchdowns in his first five games entering play Friday night.

The Bobcats often kicked away from Real on Friday, allowing him only a single punt return. However, that did little to stifle Real and West York in the Bulldogs' 73-6 demolition of their hosts homecoming game.

West York made short work of Northeastern by leaping out to a 41-0 first-quarter lead. Even more impressive, it only took the Bulldogs eight plays from scrimmage to score the 41 points.

"We were concerned about coming out sluggish. We addressed that, obviously," said West York coach Ron Miller. "Brandon started it off again; he's just in a different zone right now. Up front we played well and defensively I'm very pleased."

Real got things started by scoring on West York's first play from scrimmage -- a 39-yard run. A defensive stand and two plays later, quarterback Alex George hit Nate Jacobs from 54 yards out.

A Brant Sower fumble recovery set up Real's second score, this time from 1 yard out. George then connected with Real on an 80-yard touchdown the very next time the Bulldogs saw the ball.

Darion Bundy scored on an interception return and Real found the end zone once more to complete the huge quarter.

Real got things going again in the second quarter, scoring on the quarter's first play.

He added a 5-yard touchdown run and Blake Campbell's score from 1 yard out gave West York a 60-0 lead at halftime.

Real finished the night with 134 yards on nine carries. His six touchdowns tied a school-record he set two weeks prior in a 68-7 drubbing of Hanover.

George also had an effective night. He completed 4-of-5 five attempts, racked up 171 yards and also picked up a pair of touchdowns.

Believe it or not, winning the past three games by a margin of 195-30 has been troublesome to Miller.

The blowout victories have meant his starters haven't had to play an entire football game since Week 3 against Red Lion.

"It's a big concern because we've been fortunate to get these big leads, but I'm concerned about our second half," said Miller. "We'll continue to work really hard in the weight room and work really hard on our conditioning and hopefully that will carry us through. York Suburban is going to be a very good test for us."
