Using any play-on-words to describe West York's Brandon Real is becoming far too easy.

He's the Real deal. He's Really good, so good he's almost unReal. Get the drift?

Thanks to a school-record six touchdowns from Real, all in the first half, the Bulldogs cruised to a 68-7 thumping of visiting Hanover Friday night.

The big night started for Real on the game's first play. Real fielded the opening kick at his own 23, made a series of nice juke moves and left the remaining Nighthawks behind en route to a 77-yard score.

The return marks the fifth week in a row, dating back to West York's first-round District 3 playoff loss to Gettysburg last season, that Real has scored on special teams.

"We wanted to get off to a good start, we've been struggling early lately," said West York coach Ron Miller. "We just got rolling. We're one of those teams that if we get rolling early, we tend to roll a lot; it was good for us tonight."

The Bulldogs blew the game open from there, finding the end zone five time in the first quarter alone to take an early 34-0 lead. Nate Jacobs was the only Bulldog not named Real to score in the quarter, scoring on a 26-yard strike from quarterback Alex George on the Bulldogs' first offensive possession.

Real's second score was a 66-yard punt return, and he added touchdown runs of 55 and 25 yards respectively on the two possessions there after.

Real kept it going in the second quarter as his 10-yard run tied the school record for

touchdowns in a single game. He would score his record-breaker with 6:51 left to play in the first half, again from 10 yards out.

"I don't really know what to say," said Real of his historic night. "Lately, we haven't started off the game fast, and we wanted to start tonight off fast, and that's what happened. On the punt return I was just out there having fun, the four rushing touchdowns came from good blocking from the linemen."

Jacobs was again the recipient of a George touchdown pass in the second quarter, this one a yard further at 27 yards. George had an easy night himself, completing all four of his attempts for 106 yards and two touchdowns.

Real took advantage whenever he got the ball, and believe it or not, it didn't happen that often. He finished with 128 yards on only seven carries and his six scores.

"We lost to a hell of a football team," said Hanover coach Jason Potts. "We got beaten off the ball on both sides by a much quicker team. We showed up, we did the best we could, and they're just a great team."

Even with his team leading 62-0 at the half, the competitor in Real struggled to remain dormant on the sideline.

"My first goal was to win the game, my second goal was to get the rushing record, but I got the touchdown record instead," Real said. "At half time I went in and tried to convince coach to let me kick field goals; he told me to just cheer on the JV team."

After the game, Miller showered Real with praise.

"I'm real proud of Brandon, he's a hard-working young man," said Miller. "He's just a special kid, very gifted, his name deserves to be on the record books here for a long time."
