CAMP HILL -- Biglerville got inside the 20-yard line twice in the fourth quarter but was stopped both times as Camp Hill held on for a 21-19 victory Friday night.

The Canners trailed 21-7 at the half before two touchdown runs by Parker Showers in the third quarter narrowed the gap to 21-19.

After Showers' first score, the Canners failed to attempt a conversion because of a bad snap.

After his second score, Biglerville failed again on the two-point conversion. But the Canners took possession of the ball at midfield to start the fourth quarter and marched down to the Lions' 17-yard line and were faced with a third-and-6. Jared Piccarelli lofted a pass to the right corner of the end zone that was intercepted by Trevor Polly with 8:49 remaining.

Camp Hill (1-0) couldn't get a first down and had to punt, giving the ball back to Biglerville at its own 44-yard line with 6:37 left.

Biglerville (0-1) put together another solid drive only to have it stall out on fourth-and-5 at Camp Hill's 20 when Piccarelli fired a pass that Mike Wagner couldn't corral. The Lions regained possession with 2:42 left and ran out the clock.

"It was a good opener against a tough opponent," Biglerville head coach Tim Hibbs said. "They made the plays when they needed to and got the key stops."

Camp Hill's first down with 1:50 left in the game was the first time it moved the chains since the four-minute mark of the second quarter.
