SHIPPENSBURG -- The Shippensburg University field hockey team advanced to its second straight NCAA Division II Final Four by defeating East Stroudsburg 3-0 on Saturday at SU's Robb Field.

The Lady Raiders (20-2) recorded their second NCAA victory in school history and tied a program record for victories in a season. Shippensburg is scheduled to play at 2 p.m. on Friday against PSAC rival No. 1 Bloomsburg, who has handed SU its only two losses of the season.

The winner of that game advances to play either UMass-Lowell or host Stonehill in Sunday's national championship game.

The Lady Raiders got a first-half goal from Kristina Taylor, her 24th of the year, to break in front 1-0. In the second half, Shippensburg poured it on with a pair of games from Ashley Taylor while Kim Tully recorded an assist.

Amanda Houser recorded nine saves in the victory, giving her 108 saves for the season. She continues to lead the nation in save percentage and goals-against average.

East Stroudsburg (14-7) got 12 saves from Maureen Ordnung in the loss. Shippensburg won the two regular-season meetings, 3-0 and 3-1.
