Academy Park's Duwaine Jenkins and Kyle Ashley won three matches and defeated Chichester brothers Adrian and John Reimer in the final round, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, to capture the Del Val League Doubles Tournament championship Monday afternoon at Chester Park.
Jenkins and Ashley and the Reimers have qualified for the District One Doubles Championships next month.
Jenkins and Ashley downed Andrew Ung and Kevin Leonard of Chichester in the quarterfinals before claiming a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Penn Wood's Corrie Johnson and Charles McDowell.
The Reimers downed Penn Wood's Jason Petty and Andrew Miller in the other semifinal. Petty and Miller bounced back to beat Johnson and McDowell in the consolation match.
In the Inter-Ac League:
Haverford School 4, Episcopal Academy 3: The Fords avenged an earlier loss to the Churchmen that at the time ended their 49-match winning streak. The No. 2 doubles pairing of Naryan Rustgi and Will McDevitt clinched the victory 6-3, 6-4.
All-Delcos Zach and Ben Lieb were triumphant in the first two singles duels. Zach claimed a 6-3, 6-7, 6-4 decision and Ben followed with a win in straight sets 6-2, 6-0.
In nonleague play:
Marple Newtown 4, Sun Valley 3: Akesh Sohan and Max Miller locked up the win for the Tigers at the No. 3 doubles position. Gary Stilp was a winner at No. 2 singles.
For the Vanguards, Evan DiGregory and Dave Levergood both toppled their opponents.
Downingtown West 4, Strath Haven 3: Xandy Hammitt and Jeff Himselstein were victorious in singles competition for the Panthers, who lost three of the four doubles matches.
W.C. Henderson 6, Radnor 1: Tommy Chang and Brad Burton earned a 7-6, 7-6 victory at first doubles, accounting for the Raiders' one point.
