Taylor Winkelman is swinging a lethal bat.
Winkelman crushed her county-leading sixth home run of the season in Springfield's 6-5 Central League win over Garnet Valley. She was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, two runs scored, a walk and a sacrifice fly while playing outstanding defense in the outfield for the first-place Cougars (12-1).
Ashley Scarpato was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Kaity Baumann added two hits. Courtney Scarpato scattered five hits and worked around four errors to get the win.
Reva Alderman homered for the Jaguars.

Ridley 19, Strath Haven 2: Leigh Ann Jenkins belted a three-run dinger and dominated over four innings from the circle (10 Ks). Mel Malseed was 2-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and two ribbies. Alyssa Higgins chipped in with two hits and scored three times.
Haverford 8, Marple Newtown 3: Heather Lazer delivered a clutch two-run single in the sixth inning that gave the Fords (8-3, 7-2) the lead for good. Bridget Newman obliterated a double off the left-field fence and pitched a two-hitter with eight punchouts, while her catcher Tyler Beccari ripped a two-run double.
Upper Darby 22, Lower Merion 0: Olivia Chase and Zina Naughton both homered for the Royals (7-5, 6-5) and Katie Robinson tripled and scored three runs.
Conestoga 1, Radnor 0: The Pioneers scored one run in the first inning off Radnor pitcher Izzy Schaefer. Callie Wang pitched a three-hit shutout.
In nonleague action:
Episcopal Academy 5, Chichester 1: In a battle of top-flight Delco pitchers, EA's Alex Viscusi got the best of Meghan Wimmer and the visiting Eagles (8-1). The junior Viscusi struck out six and allowed four hits while going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Wimmer fanned 12 in the loss.
Taylor Long smashed a two-run double to give EA (7-1) breathing room in the third frame. Second baseman Julianne Longen contributed two hits and great defense.
Christian Academy 19, Academy Park 7: Winning pitcher Carly Ryle helped her cause by going 3-for-5 with four RBIs. Madi Dutton also went 3-for-5 while knocking in three runs for the Crusaders (4-3), who broke out for 16 hits against the host Knights.
In the Catholic League:
Cardinal O'Hara 15, Hallahan 0: Lauren Macauley and Molly Rafferty hit long balls as the Lions stayed undefeated in league play (7-0). Emma Lindsay roped three hits, including a triple, while driving in three runs.
Bonner-Prendergast 12, Bishop McDevitt 0: Jess Knapp, Mel Robinson and Molly McNulty combined for eight strikeouts and the one-hit shutout.
Bern Carey doubled, tripled and knocked in three runs, and Knapp added two ribbies for the Pandas (8-4, 6-2).
In the Ches-Mont League:
Unionville 14, Sun Valley 4: Sam Perrotta was 2-for-2 with a double and a RBI for the Vanguards (1-3). Amber Michael also had two hits, including a two-bagger.
