Haverford High's Nate Frank won two matches at the District One Class AAA Tennis Championships Friday to advance to the quarterfinal round Saturday.

Frank, the No. 5 seed in the tournament, started his morning with a convincing 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Chichester's Adrian Reimers. He later defeated Upper Dublin's Brian Szayne in the second round in a thriller, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (8). The Ford was the lone Delco player to move on to the quarters.

Brett Caban of Upper Darby was triumphant in his first-round match, downing Billy Rocker in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6 (2). Caban, however, couldn't solve Pennsbury's Blake Illes in the second round, dropping a 6-2, 7-5 decision.

Strath Haven's Nick Ringle also claimed victory in the first round with an impressive 6-2, 6-1 win against Upper Merion's Nam Nguyen. Ringle would lose to Conestoga's Brian Grodecki in the next round, 6-2, 6-1.

Academy Park's Duwaine Jenkins lost 6-0, 6-0 to West Chester Henderson's Andrew Maza in the opening round.

The quarterfinal and semifinal matches take place Saturday at the Healthplex. The championship match will be held Saturday, May 10.

In the Del Val League:

Academy Park 5, Chester 0: Duwaine Jenkins bounced back from his District One first-round setback with a convincing 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Matthew Jones in the No. 1 match, helping the Knights get above .500 in the win-loss column (7-6, 7-3 Del Val).

In his debut singles match, No. 3 Evan Gadson claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3 against Mohamed Kashkoush. Hosoth Sithara was victorious in the No. 2 singles battle with Michael Jones.

In the Inter-Ac League:

Haverford School 7, Malvern 0: Ben Lieb, Nathan Kidambi and Connor Lees swept singles competition. Narya Rustgi and Will Devitt won the top doubles match for the Fords.
