For the third straight year, Cardinal O'Hara's boys cross country team just missed out on a state championship in Hershey.

That being said, the Lions still put up a heck of a fight as All-Delco Kevin James and Nick Smart each finished in the top-10 to lead O'Hara to a third-place finish at the PIAA Championships Saturday.

West Chester Henderson defended its state title rather easily with a team score of 60, followed by North Allegheny's 97 and the Lions' 101. Penncrest, led by All-Delco Chris Kazanjian's sixth-place finish and Matt Kazanjian's 26th-place entry, took home ninth place in the team standings with a score of 259.

James finished in 16:02, 13 seconds behind state champion Tony Russell of Henderson, and Chris Kazanjian clocked in at 16:08. The Lions also got a 27th-place finish from Jim Belfatto. At the AA level, Bonner-Prendergast took home 17th place as a team, led by Joe Sullivan finishing 22nd and Ryan Rastatter taking home 39th.
