Bonner-Prendergast junior Quinn Dolan carded an even-par 71 at LuLu Country Club Monday to capture the Catholic League Tournament title.
Dolan led the Friars to a second-place finish in the team standings behind La Salle. Bonner-Prendie finished with a 490 total, five shots ahead of Cardinal O'Hara, which took third. Archbishop Wood finished fourth. The four teams will represent the Catholic League in Class AAA at the District 12 Tournament next Tuesday at Philmont Country Club.
Only the top finisher out of the District 12 tourney will advance to the East Region Tournament. Archbishop Carroll represented the Catholic League in a PIAA Class AA subregional a year ago and is a leading candidate to make that field again.
Following up Dolan's title-winning 71 for the Friars were Dan Goggin with an 80, Bryan Andrusko with an 81, Brian Kilroy with an 84, Mike Ransone with an 84 and Alex Brady and Mike Grosso with 90s.
Dolan, Goggin and Andrusko all made All-Catholic off their showings Monday. Dolan had already secured All-Catholic status after finishing second in the points standings from the regular-season matches.
O'Hara was led by sophomore Alec Kerr, who had a 77. He finished fourth in the points standings from the regular season and had already secured All-Catholic honors. Following up Kerr for the Lions were Steve McAlee with a 79, Shane Dougherty and Kevin George with 84s, Nick Familetti with an 85, Nick Monaghan with an 86 and Matt Penza
McAlee's performance earned him All-Catholic honors and George was awarded All-Catholic status off his ninth-place finish in the team standings from the regular season.
Carroll was led by Harry Lownes with an 83 and Brendan George with an 84.
On the girls side, defending champion Anna Haley of Bonner-Prendie finished second with a 94, a shot back of Karly Brown of Archbishop Wood. Both earned a trip to next week's District 12 Tournament.
