As a sophomore, Tavon Parker saw his brother Kelvin reach 1,000 career points for William Penn. On Friday, the Parkers switched roles.

Tavon Parker scored his 1,000th point Friday night with his brother in attendance, as they became the first such pair to reach the milestone in William Penn boys' basketball history. Parker scored 14 points in the Bearcats' 87-42 win against Spring Grove.

"Derek (Wilson) was going to throw me an alley-oop, but I got cut off and just had to layup," Tavon said. "The moment was great. The game was fun."

The milestone basket came in the third quarter, shortly after Tavon said his brother Kelvin -- a Mount St. Mary player -- arrived at halftime. Tavon said Kelvin told him he wanted to see it.

The Parker brothers are the first in the YAIAA to each reach 1,000 points since York Catholic's Jon (2003) and Jacob Iati (2008).

Wilson scored a game-high 23 points, including three of the Bearcats' nine 3-pointers. Ohsajid Beard added 15 points, and Jahaire Wilson scored 12.
