Chambersburg's gymnastics team finished its regular season with a perfect record for the second year in a row after beating Waynesboro, 131.36-120.15 on Thursday night at the CASHS auxiliary gym.
"I'm just so proud of these girls," Chambersburg coach Michelle Jones said. "They had an amazing season."
Samantha Lowery was once again the star for the Trojans (6-0). She placed in all four of her events, including three first-place finishes. In the vault and beam, she captured the top spot and she tied with teammate Darranique Burhanan-Barbour for first in the floor with a score of 8.35. She also finished second all-around (33.2 points).
Burhanan-Barbour, who captured the all-around with a score of 33.8, took a commanding first place in the bar. She finished with 8.7, followed by teammate Alicia Etter, who scored 8.0.
"I'm so proud of these girls for having such a great season," Jones said. "Now, we're just looking forward to districts and states."
For Waynesboro (0-5), the biggest standout was Brianna Gamero-Cheney. She placed third in the vault with 8.35 points, tied for second in the floor (8.25) with Chambersburg's Aubrey Hammond and finished third all-around (32.2).
