Font ResizeSTATE COLLEGE - The Chambersburg girls basketball team succeeded in a couple of areas Tuesday night, but could not keep up with State College on the scoreboard and lost, 64-37, in a Mid Penn Commonwealth Division game.
Darra Walker led the Trojans (4-11, 2-9 MPC) with 16 points, including three 3-pointers. Marshay Ryan added eight points.
Jenna Altomare led the Lions (12-5, 8-3 MPC ) with 20 points.
Chambersburg coach Jenny Schmutzler said, "One of our goals was to stop lob passes to their big girl, (Kyla) Irwin. We held her to 10 points. A goal on offense was to move the ball against their zone. We did do that, too.
"We've had a problem all season when we do have open looks to get the baskets. Scoring 37 points is not going to get it done against the Mid Penn teams that we have to face."
