Several things went wrong for Mercersburg as the Blue Storm suffered their first loss of the season After trailing by only 2 points at halftime, Mercersburg (9-1, 3-1 IPSL) was shut out in the third quarter The Blue Storm shot only 17 percent from the floor and 40 percent from the foul line None of the Mercersburg players was able to score in double figures; McKenzie Brink (of Chambersburg) led with 7 points Teal Tasker (Chambersburg) and Sarah Firestone (Mercersburg) did well on the boards with 9 and 8 rebounds, respectively Blue Storm assistant coach David Bell said, "We're battling through some illness. We were a tired team in the third quarter. We didn't play great in the first half, but we hung in there. In the third quarter, our legs were tired and the shots were falling short. We couldn't compete physically. Hopefully we'll get through this; we have two games in New Jersey this weekend." Shannon Greene led St. John's with 23 points and Christine Hagan produced a half-dozen blocked shots.
