A two-game losing streak followed a six-game winning streak for the Palmyra boys' basketball team. Friday night, the Cougars got back on the winning track again.

Palmyra outscored Cedar Cliff 19-10 in the fourth quarter to pull out a 61-52 victory in Palmyra. With the Keystone Division win, the Cougars improved to 10-5 overall and 5-4 in Mid-Penn play. Palmyra ran out to a 31-23 halftime lead, but after the Colts used a 19-11 spurt in the third quarter to tie the game at 42 entering the final period, the Cougars regained control of the contest, thanks in part to Shaun Robinson, who made all seven of his free throw attempts in the quarter to help salt away the win.

Palmyra, which was 10-for-11 from the line in the fourth, received 22 points from Trey Baker and another 14 by Logan Stovall

  • Cedar Crest 58, Ephrata 50: In Ephrata, the Falcons rode a 24-point explosion from Clay Penchard to the narrow win over the Mounts.

    Now at the .500 mark with a 7-7 overall record, Crest (4-5 Section One) also got a big 19-point effort from Killian Klopp en route to overcoming shaky 12-for-22 foul shooting.

  • Lancaster Catholic 44, Elco 23: In Lancaster, the Raiders spent the evening in the Crusaders' defensive death grip while enduring a 21-point loss.

    Derek Miller was the lone scoring option for Elco (3-11, 1-8 Section Three) in the loss, managing 11 points.

    Lampeter-Strasburg 61, Annville-Cleona 12: In Annville, the Little Dutchmen had an even more difficult offensive night, managing a paltry dozen points on the way to dropping to 4-11 overall and 2-7 in Section Four.

    The misery began in the first quarter, when A-C was shut out while falling behind by 19.

    Derrick Sanders' four points was the most a Little Dutchmen player could manage in the loss.

  • Penn Manor 57, Lebanon 47: In Lebanon, the Cedars dropped their fourth straight game in the Section One-Two crossover, slipping to 5-8 overall and 3-6 in Section Two.

    In a low-scoring first half, the Comets (3-10, 2-7) held a 15-11 advantage.

  • Lebanon Christian 63, West Chester Christian 45: In Lebanon, the Panthers improved to 6-1 thanks to a sparkling 31-point effort by Jon Beiler, who drained four of his team's 10 3-pointers en route to a game-high effort.

    Craig Griffith Jr. added 11 points, and Jimmy Caputo chipped in with 10 for Lebanon Christian, which bolted out to a 24-8 first-quarter lead and never looked back.

  • Harrisburg Academy 57, New Covenant 55: In Wormleysburg, an 18-6 Harrisburg Academy run in the third quarter turned the Flames' 31-22 halftime lead into a 40-37 deficit New Covenant couldn't recover from.

    Nate Dawson tossed in 24 points and Cody Snyder hit four 3-pointers en route to a 14-point effort as the Flames fell to 2-8 on the season.
