The York Catholic and Susquehannock girls both qualified for the state team tennis tournament Wednesday, but they did it in different ways at the District 3 team tournament at Hershey Racquet Club.

In Class AA, Wyomissing overpowered the Fighting Irish with three decisive straight-set wins to earn their fourth straight district team title, 3-0. And in the Class AAA third-place match, the Warriors swept the singles matches to beat Cedar Crest, 3-2, and earn a berth in the state team tournament, which opens Tuesday.

In York Catholic's match, Class AA singles champion Audrey Ann Blakely routed Anna Spoden, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1 singles. Wyomissing's Caroline Pattillo defeated Sarah Koury by the same score at No. 2. The Spartans sealed the victory with Mara Trifoi and Allison White's 6-0, 6-2 romp over Kathryn Thomas and Katarina DeFelice in the No. 1 doubles match.

The Spartans were poised for a singles sweep as Greta Koch led Maddie Kepner 6-1, 3-2 when the match was stopped. York Catholic's Emily and Maggie Javitt led Carmen Heinley and Abby Waxler 6-0, 2-2 at No. 2 doubles.

In the state tournament, the Irish will face the District 11 champion at a site and time to be determined.

Susquehannock secured its spot in states when Katie Wagner breezed to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Catherine Bond at No. 1 singles. Adriana Bullaj defeated Madeleine Overholt, 6-3, 6-1, in the No. 2 match and Usha Baublitz was a 6-3, 6-2 winner over Madison Fortna at No.

The Falcons claimed their points in doubles play. Rachel and Andrea Smith defeated Susquehannock's Caroline Vesper and Chelsey Simmers, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 1. Cheyenne Hess and Lucy Kalista fell to Jolie Zinn and Kaitlyn Mulligan in the No. 2 match, 6-0, 6-0.

Susquehannock will face either the District 2 or the District 4 champion in its opening state tournament match on Tuesday. The site and time will be determined at a later date.
