The two Gettysburg High seniors representing the Warriors at the Mid-Penn Football Media Day on Tuesday at Cumberland Valley High School were adamant about the upcoming season.

"I just want people to know this year will be a lot different," said the one sitting on the right. "That's a promise. Last year was definitely tough. It (stunk)."

Added the other: "We all want a winning season. We want to prove everybody wrong. We got a lot of heat for last season."

Meet Jason, seated to the right, and Jordan Nye, on the left. They are twins who will both play at running back and inside linebacker and who hope to help the Warriors better last season's 2-8 record.

They think their relationship will prove beneficial.

"The communication," Jordan said. "Sometimes you don't have to say something. You do it and know he's going to be there. Sometimes communication between two teammates is a bit of a challenge. Between me and him, it's just natural. We're used to it. It makes it a lot easier."

They point to last year's game against Greencastle-Antrim as an example of their ability to work together.

"On the first possession, I think we got them to do a four-and-out," Jason said. "On the next possession, we scored on defense. I think me and him stepped up and showed the team that you don't have to be scared."

their physical differences.

"We run different," Jason started.

"And my hair is a little longer," Jordan said.

"And I think I weigh a little bit more," Jason finished.

Any differences are slight. Jordon crouches more when he runs. The two have the same hair cut, but Jordan's is barely longer. And if Jason weighs more, it can't be by much.

The most noticeable physical difference between the two is the scar beneath Jason's left eye. The only way to tell them apart in uniform is that Jason wears jersey No. 10 and Jordan wears No. 24.

They began playing football together. Before high school, they were offensive guards in youth football.

The two join another set of twins on the Warriors: juniors Jake and Josh Boehner.

Gettysburg head coach Matt Heiser, in his first year with the Warriors, was celebrating getting the Boehners' names correct earlier Tuesday. He has advanced beyond that with the Nyes.

"Being seniors, I'm looking for some leadership from them right away," Heiser said. "They've been working hard all summer. They've rarely missed anything, running, lifting, anything like that. They're excited about the things that are happening this year."
