Pending school approval on Monday night, Robert Miller will be the successor to Mark Evans as the head football coach at Elco High School.
Elco athletic director Doug Bohannon confirmed Miller's impending hiring today. Miller, Elco's boys' and girls' track and field coach, is a former assistant football coach at the school and most recently served in the same capacity at Cedar Cliff High School.
Miller was one of two candidates interviewed for the position, along with longtime Elco assistant John Carley. Evans stepped down last month after 14 seasons at the helm to take the head football coaching job at Manheim Township.
