Notes: First-team MAPL selection ... Threw a 1-hitter with 9 strikeouts in the PAISSA championship ... Batted .719 in MAPL play.

Quotes: Said Mercersburg coach John David Bennett, "She was unflappable. For a 14-year-old, it's amazing how much control she has of her pitches and her psyche. She's already so mature. That's what makes her extraordinary and puts her over the top."

AMANDA WINK, Sr., P, Greencastle-Antrim

Statistics: 16-6, 1.70 ERA, 151 strikeouts, 44 walks and 110 hits in 152 innings pitched ... Batted .292 with 14 RBIs.

Notes: First-team Mid Penn Colonial selection Will pitch for Millersville next year.

Quotes: Said G-A coach Jamie Richardson, "We wouldn't have had the season we had without Amanda having a great year. She worked extremely hard and pitched the majority of our games. She had a great district run and got us into the state tournament. I'm really proud of her and she deserves all the recognition she got."

JENNA CRUNKLETON, Sr., RF, Greencastle-Antrim

Statistics: Batted .483 with 42 hits, 30 RBIs, 36 runs, 11 doubles, 4 triples, 2 home runs and 13 walks.

Notes: First-team Mid Penn Colonial selection ... Will play at Hagerstown Community College next year.

Quotes: Said G-A coach Jamie Richardson, "Jenna's been a contributor for us for the last four years. She saved her best year for last. She's a great kid, led by example, had a great work ethic. And she's another one, offensively, without her big year we probably wouldn't have gone as far, either. She's just been steady."

RACHEL KLINE, Sr., 1B, Greencastle-Antrim

Statistics: Batted 429 with 39 hits, 32 RBIs, 29 runs, 11 doubles, 1 triple and four home runs.

Notes: First-team Mid Penn Colonial selection ... This is her third time appearing on the P.O. softball first team ... Also a P.O. second team selection for basketball this year.

Quotes: Said G-A coach Jamie Richardson, "Rachel's been contributing since her freshman year (game-winning RBI in the PIAA final) and is probaby one of the most dangerous batters in our lineup. She's a power hitter. She contributed RBIs and big hits."

KATIE SHAAK, Sr., C, Chambersburg

Statistics: Batted .387 with 24 hits, 16 RBIs, 6 runs, .486 OBP, 12 walks, 6 doubles, 1 triple and 3 home runs.

Notes: First-team Mid Penn Commonwealth selection.

Quotes: Chambersburg coach Ted Bittinger said, "She was a three-year starter on varsity, a team captain this year and had a very solid work ethic. She's a good team leader. She was a very good asset for our freshman pitcher. I think we'll see a definite outcome next year of what Katie was been able to get Alexis Shearer to do. She was in control; she called the pitches. She was just a great all-around player."

MARY WARD, Jr., CF, Greencastle-Antrim

Statistics: Batted .353 with 32 runs, 9 RBIs, 1 double, five triples and 10 walks. Stole 13 bases on 13 attempts.

Notes: First-team Mid Penn Colonial selection.

Quotes: G-A coach Jamie Richardson said, "With her being our leadoff batter, it was so very important for her to get on and she got on base a lot. She set the table for success. Her first, then Jenna and Rachel. You want your top three at the top to ensure they get as many at-bats as possible. She was quick stealing bases and she's a great centerfielder. She took control of the outfield."

JENNA RHODES, Sr., P/SS, Fannett-Metal

Statistics: 10-1, 2.12 ERA, 67 strikeouts, 52 hits and 34 walks in 62.2 innings pitched ... Batted .337 with 17 RBIs, 16 runs and 7 doubles.

Notes: First-team SHL and ICC selection ... Was part of four District 5-A championship teams ... Will play softball at Penn State Mont Alto next year.

Quotes: Said F-M coach Stewart Miller, "Jenna was never selfish. She came through with some big hits throughout the season. She's a great kid to work with. No complaints whatsoever."

MEGAN BAKER, Sr., 2B, Waynesboro

Statistics: Batted .476 with 30 hits, 8 RBIs, 5 doubles and 24 runs Stole 18 bases Committed just 2 errors.

Notes: First-team Mid Penn Colonial selection.

Quotes: Said Waynesboro coach Doug Stuart, "She's done so much for us. She's been a big reason why we've been so successful in her four years. She does a little bit of eveything well. She's a great hitter, she can hit for power, she's a good baserunner, has speed, hits for average. And there's probably not a better fielder in the area. She's just a competitor and does it the right way."

SHAE FOREMAN, Jr., SS, James Buchanan

Statistics: Batted .475, which included 29 hits, 25 runs, 8 RBIs, 4 doubles and 7 triples ... Went 20-for-20 on stolen base attempts.

Notes: First-team Mid Penn Colonial selection ... Was a P.O. honorable mention last year when she played catcher and batted .213 with 12 runs.

Statistics: Batted .413 with 31 hits, 23 RBIs, 17 runs, 6 doubles, 4 triples and a home run ... Had 7 sacrifice hits.

Notes: Mid Penn Colonial honorable mention.

Quotes: G-A coach Jamie Richardson said, "I'm proud of Cassey. She's a sparkplug. She got hot in the middle of the season and kept it going. She didn't want the season to end. She played great at third base, was very steady and came through for us consistently. She worked hard for where she's at and we wouldn't be where we are without her, too."

AUNJEL "JELLIE" VANBRAKLE, Sr., CF, Shippensburg

Notes: First-team Mid Penn Colonial selection ... Also a P.O. first-team selection in volleyball and basketball.

Quotes: Shippensburg coach Mike Peters said, "Jellie had her best year to date in softball. She was our team leader in batting, RBIs and home runs and did a great job in centerfield. But I was probably most impressed with her maturity and how she led the team."
