The Daily Record/Sunday News presents the 2012 YAIAA Division IV Softball All-Stars:
  
CO-PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
   Carrie Fix, York Catholic, So., P: Fix was an extra-base-hit machine for the Irish, with two doubles, six triples and a Division IV-high seven home runs.

She hit .611 and drove in 27 runs during her impressive sophomore campaign and was the main hurler for York Catholic.
   Deanna Laughman, Delone Catholic, So., SS: Only a sophomore, Laughman was co-player of year in 2011, sharing the award with Dani Aikins of York County Tech, and followed up that campaign in style.

Laughman hit a robust .573, scored 44 runs and drove in another 19, leading the Squirettes to the Division IV regular-season championship, plus YAIAA and District 3 playoff berths.
 
ALL-STARS
   Dani Aikins, York County Tech, Jr., C: One of two players of the year in 2011, Aikins drove in 29 runs while batting .500 in 2012. She had two doubles, a home run and an amazing eight triples.
   Nikki Bowmaster, Biglerville, Sr., 1B: The Canners' main offensive catalyst, Bowmaster hit a Division IV-best .650 on the season, to go along

with three doubles and seven runs batted in.
   Cheyenne Fulcher, York County Tech, Jr., 1B/3B: The two-time all-star is a major part of the Spartans' surge in softball. She hit an even .500 on the season and drove in 23 runs, plus fielded at an impressive .988 clip.
   Bradi Hill, Hanover, Jr., C: The junior backstop was an all-star last season and came back to hit .430 with four triples and three home runs in 2012.
   Casara McCleaf, Delone Catholic, Jr., C: Another of the key run producers for the division champs, McCleaf hit .517 with three doubles and two triples. She also drove in 26 runs.
   Katrina McLane, York County Tech, Sr., P: An all-star last season, McLane's season was cut short because of an injury, although she still hit .324 with eight RBIs and was solid again in the pitcher's circle.
   Taylor Schussler, Delone Catholic, Jr. 3B: Drove in a Division IV-high 38 runs this season while hitting .636. Her hits included four doubles, two triples and four home runs.
   Lauren Smith, Hanover, Fr.: Only a freshman, Smith burst onto the scene by hitting .579 -- an impressive number on its own, but add in her four doubles, four triples and three home runs, and you have a great season.
  
COACH OF THE YEAR
   Don Smith, Delone Catholic: He led the Squirettes to their first YAIAA division title since 2002 as Delone posted an 11-3 league record, 11-5 overall.

Smith led an offense that scored 20 or more runs in a game five times during the 2012 season.

   Biglerville: Sam Starner; Delone Catholic: Ariel Price, Shayna Rider; Fairfield: Kennedy Keller; Hanover: Ashley Lawson; York Catholic: Liz Lynch, Julia Ruiz; York County Tech: Savannah Grimes, Angela Johnson.
