Chambersburg's A.J. Maun and Shippensburg's Jenna Parson are among the basketball recruits signed by Shippensburg University for the 2012-13 season.
Maun is one of seven players who signed a national letter of intent to play for the Red Raiders, coached by Dave Springer.
The 6-3 senior guard and captain averaged 14.3 points per game and helped lead the surprising Chambersburg Trojans to the District 3 Class AAAA championship. He also averaged 2.4 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game, and connected on 39 3-pointers.
Trojan coach Shawn Shreffler said, "A.J. was our vocal leader in practice, in the locker room and on the court. His ability to score was really something we needed, but the thing that probably goes a little unsung is his ability to defend. He's a good passer, too."
Parson is one of eight players who signed a national letter of intent to play for the Lady Raiders, coached by Kristy Trn.
The 5-9 senior guard averaged 14.6 points, 6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.8 steals per game. She hit 46 3-pointers as the Lady Hounds advanced to the first round of the District 3 Class AAAA playoffs.
Ship coach Megan Carr said, "Obviously, we've always known Jenna as a versatile scorer. This year she increased her rebounding and became a better defender."
