High-school basketball has been over for months, but a trio of Lebanon County players were recently recognized for their work on the hardwood during the winter season.
New Covenant Christian's Nate Dawson was selected to the Small School Division's All-American Second Team by the National Christian Athletic Association after averaging 26.5 points per game for the Flames last season. That average led Lebanon County in scoring during in 2011-12.
Dawson, a 6-foot-8 junior center, was also named to the Northeast Super-Region team, along with Lebanon Christian's Justin Alvarez. Alvarez is a junior forward/guard.
On the girls' side, New Covenant's Erin Haggard was also selected to the Northeast Super-Region team after tossing in 12.0 points per game as a sophomore forward.
