Spring Grove's Amanda Craver and Michaela Taylor helped the Rockets girls' tennis team win its season opener Tuesday against visiting Hanover, 4-3.

Craver and Taylor earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Both girls also won their singles matches, as Spring Grove held a 3-2 lead entering doubles.

Emma Hoffnagle earned the Rockets' third point when Alexandra Bassett retired early in the second set.

Hanover was led by Laney Jenkins, who won in straight sets at No. 1 singles and teamed with Eden Walker for a 6-2, 6-2 win at first doubles.

Delone Catholic 6, West York 1: Radhika Bajaj gave the Squirettes a head start in their road win against the Bulldogs, as Bajaj defeated West York's Darion Swartz, 6-2, 6-3, in lead singles.

Olivia Purtell recorded the lone West York victory against Liz DeMaio in two shutout sets, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles.

Purtell and Swartz fell to Bajaj and Anna Kaufmann, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 1 doubles.

Red Lion 5, Dover 2: McKenzie Krout rallied for a three-set win at No. 1 singles and also contributed a doubles point to the Lions' victory.

Krout lost a first-set tiebreaker to Sara Landis but bounced back to claim a 6-7 (7-3), 6-4, 7-5 win. That victory, coupled with straight-set singles wins by Kate Jayamaha and Mickie Martin, gave Red Lion a 3-2 edge after singles.

The Lions then swept the doubles, including Krout and Martin's 8-4 pro set win against Landis and Jenna Ravenscraft at No. 1.

Mia Becker and Bree Link posted singles wins for the Eagles.

Susquehannock 5, Kennard-Dale 2: The Warriors swept the host Rams in singles play, but Kennard-Dale won both doubles matchups to avoid a shutout.

Susquehannock's Katie Wagner defeated Jess Wernig, 6-1, 6-0, in lead doubles, while Nicole Daacke blanked Kennard-Dale's Brianna Bennett in both sets, 6-0, 6-0, in No. 2 singles.

Wernig partnered with Cecilia Oliveros to earn the Warriors' first win in lead doubles, defeating Jill Silverman and Alyssa Dennis, 8-4.

Dallastown 4, York Catholic 3: Emily Westenberger won in singles and doubles to help the Wildcats slip past the Fighting Irish.

Dallastown won three of the five singles matches, including Westenberger's 6-4, 6-1 win against Lainey Elliott in the No. 2 match. The Wildcats clinched the victory when Westenberger teamed with Tori Davis to defeat Anna Spoden and Kelly Waser, 6-3, 6-4.

The Wildcats' Danielle Lucabaugh and Emily Kistler won in straight sets in the No. 4 and No. 5 singles matches.

Sophie White won at No. 3 singles and teamed with Elliott for a point at No. 2 doubles. Spoden defeated Davis, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 1 singles.

Central York 7, York Suburban 0: Emily Kuhn and Tori Gray earned singles wins and teamed for a doubles victory in the Panthers' shutout.

Kuhn cruised past Stephanie Seabra, 6-1, 6-1, in the No. 1 singles match, while Gray defeated Malena Sanders, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 2. The Central pair went on to rout Seabra and Sanders, 6-3, 6-0, in the No. 1 doubles match.

Taylor Bury also won in singles and doubles for the Panthers, who didn't lose a set.

Littlestown 4, William Penn 3: Visiting Littlestown won three singles matches and clinched the victory when Rachel Pierson and Brittany Billand took the No. 1 doubles match, 8-4.

Pierson and Billand, who overcame a first-set tiebreaker loss, each won their singles matches and were joined by Liz Crowl, who took an eight-game pro-set at No. 5 singles.

Fabiola Ngalle-Ehabil led William Penn by winning a three-set match at No. 3 singles and then teaming with Rochelle Stewart to win at No. 2 doubles.

Northeastern 5, South Western 2: The Mustangs' Mackenzie Bortner and Lily Horner won in No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, but the pair fell to Northeastern's Cara Glatfelter and Jamie Marrs, 7-5, 7-6 (7-3), in lead doubles.

Bortner defeated Glatfelter, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 1 singles, while Marrs fell to Horner after three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. The visiting Bobcats swept the remaining matches to earn the victory.
