GARRETT SANDERS, SS, Chambersburg

Notes: When Sanders got on base, the Trojans usually won ... The junior had 9 multi-hit games and finished third in the area in runs ... The Commonwealth Division first-team all-star had a 7-game hit streak, including a game vs. Red Land with a double, a homer high off the gym wall beyond leftfield, 3 runs and 3 RBIs.
Quotes: Trojan assistant coach Matt Carr said, "The biggest thing was whenever he got on first, it gave everyone else an advantage because they were worried about Garrett. He did a great job seeing the ball and making good contact."
DYLAN SCHAEFFER, 3B/P, Greencastle-Antrim
Statistics: .366 batting avg., 22 RBIs, 23 runs, 10 extra-base hits ... 7-2 record, 3.38 ERA, 39.1 innings, 39 strikeouts.
Notes: Schaeffer's emergence on the mound and at the plate was a key for the Blue Devils ... The senior led the team in wins, including 6 during the team's 16-game win streak ... The Capital Division first-team all-star could also hit, highlighted by a 3-for-4 effort vs. Steel-High with a double, a grand slam and 7 RBIs.
Quotes: G-A coach Jeremy Barnes said, "Dylan was our darkhorse on the mound and gave us a chance to get that second win each week. He played a vital role for us and did everything we asked of him this year."
KACE WORRELL, OF, James Buchanan
Statistics: .413 batting avg., 14 RBIs, 24 runs, 8 doubles, 3 triples, 5 steals.
Notes: Worrell did not play as a junior, but came back to lead the Rockets in average, hits, runs, RBIs, doubles and triples ... The seniors' 31 hits were tied for third-most in the area ... The Capital Division first-team all-star hit in 17 of JB's 20 games and ended with a 9-game hit streak, including a 4-hit game vs. Camp Hill.
Quotes: JB coach Scott Folmar said, "He could really cover some ground in the outfield and he was by far our best offensive threat. He was a gamer who would get on somehow and scored runs for us. He was a good surprise this year."
TYLER McDONALD, 3B/P, Chambersburg
Statistics: .338 batting avg., 18 RBIs, 4 doubles, 3 triples ... 3-3 record, 3.50 ERA, 30 innings, 9 walks, 31 strikeouts.
Notes: McDonald was a valuable asset at the plate and on the mound ... He started the year on an 8-game hit streak and tied for the team lead in RBIs ... The senior carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning vs. Carlisle and finished with a 1-hitter ... The Commonwealth Division first-team all-star will play at Millersville.
Quotes: Trojan assistant coach Matt Carr said, "He's going to be missed. He was steady at third base and a very good pitcher who always fought on the mound to the end. We will miss his bat in the No. 3 hole as well."
CODY EZOLT, 1B, Greencastle-Antrim
Statistics: .431 batting avg., 5 HR, 22 RBIs, 27 runs, 5 doubles.
Notes: Ezolt burst onto the scene with a bang, going 3-for-4 with a double, a homer and 4 RBIs in the season opener vs. Gettysburg ... The junior hit in 15 of 23 games and was tied for second on the team in runs and tied for third in hits and RBIs ... The Capital Division first-team all-star added 3 RBIs in a District 3-AAA win over Hamburg.
Quotes: G-A coach Jeremy Barnes said, "The nice thing about Cody was he was able to pile up RBIs behind Cole (Sellers). He got some big hits down the stretch for us and turned himself into a nice defensive first baseman as well."
COLE SELLERS, 3B/P, Greencastle-Antrim
Statistics: .415 batting avg., 8 HR, 30 RBIs, 21 runs ... 4-1 record, 3.36 ERA, 33.1 innings, 18 walks, 39 strikeouts.
Notes: Sellers had a career .333 avg. with 18 homers and 88 RBIs; he was 12-3 on the mound with a 3.00 ERA and 103 Ks ... The senior was named the 2010 Capital Division Co-Player of the Year ... He had a 10-game hit streak and finished second in the area in RBIs... He will attend Walters State C.C. in Tenn.
Quotes: G-A coach Jeremy Barnes said, "Cole threw all our big games. But the biggest thing was he wasn't satisfied with last season. He lost 15-20 pounds and felt more prepared this year. He simplified everything he did."
ANDREW BYERS, OF/3B, Chambersburg
Statistics: .423 batting avg., 17 RBIs, 16 runs, 4 doubles
Notes: Byers, a junior, led the team in hits and was second in RBIs ... He hit in 17 of the Trojans' 21 games, including 10 multi-hit games ... Byers was 3-for-3 vs. Cedar Cliff in the District 3-AAAA quarterfinals and had 4 RBIs vs. Susquehannock ... He was a Commonwealth Division first-team all-star ... His 30 hits were the most by a Trojan since 2007.
Quotes: Trojan assistant coach Matt Carr said, "We knew what he was capable of and he proved it this year. Last year he started out at DH but struggled early on and lost his spot. But we always knew he was a great hitter and it showed."
MATT TIMONEY, 2B/P, Mercersburg Academy
Statistics: .462 batting avg., 24 runs, 9 RBIs, 4 doubles ... 7-0 record, 2.07 ERA, 40.2 innings, 8 walks, 53 strikeouts.
Notes: Timoney did a little bit of everything for the Blue Storm ... The MAPL first-team all-star was a solid contact hitter who had an 11-game hit streak, including 4 hits vs. Musselman ... The junior led the team in wins, highlighted by a 5-hitter with 11 K's in a MAPL semifinal win vs. Blair and a 4-hit shutout vs. Martinsburg.
Quotes: Blue Storm coach Karl Reisner said, "He was Mr. Consistent and Mr. Utility. He is a great contact hitter. He runs well, he fields well and he throws well. On the mound, the biggest thing he did well was throw strikes."
LOGAN RUNK, OF, Fannett-Metal
Statistics: .493 batting avg., 29 runs, 11 RBIs, 8 doubles, 2 triples, 22 steals.
Notes: After a hand injury shortened his junior year, Runk came back with a vengence in 2010 ... He led the area in hits (35) and was second in runs and average ... He hit in 18 of 20 games and pieced together hit streaks of 7 and 8 games ... The senior was a Sideling Hill and ICC first-team all-star.
Quotes: Tigers coach Paul Coffman said, "The thing that stood out with him was his consistency all year long. He was solid from the leadoff spot and in terms of defense, he was everything you looked for in a centerfielder."
