Notes: Appleby, a Mid Penn Capital Division first-team all-star, helped lead the Devils to a Mid Penn Capital Division title ... The junior tossed a 2-hit shutout with 14 strikeouts vs. Central Dauphin in the Mid Penn playoffs and threw a 4-hitter vs. Twin Valley in districts.
Quotes: G-A coach Jamie Richardson said, "She's been very important to us. Considering she came back from injury (knee), she didn't miss a beat."
TAYLOR PATTILLO, 2B, Chambersburg

Notes: Pattillo emerged as a viable threat in the Trojans' lineup this season ... The junior led the Trojans in home runs, doubles, hits and runs scored ... Pattillo was a first-team MPC Commonwealth pick and a P.O. second-team selection last season.
Quotes: Trojan coach Harvey Staver said, "She provided more power this year. We had her batting leadoff, second or fifth. We didn't just want to bunt and run her. She can go for some exra-base hits."

Notes: Lauthers hit a dramatic walk-off grand slam in a win over Everett ... She helped lead F-M to SHL and District 5 titles ... She was an SHL and ICC first-team all-star.

Notes: Baker made a major impact for the Maidens in their return to the District 3 playoffs ... Baker led all area hitters in both base hits and batting average ... She was hitting above .600 heading into the final 2 weeks of the season ... The junior was also a Mid Penn Colonial Division first-team all-star.

CARLY MOWEN, C, Greencastle-Antrim
Statistics: .391, 29 hits, 15 runs, 31 RBIs, 6 doubles, 3 triples, 3 home runs.
Notes: Mowen was a main cog in the heart of the Blue Devils' lineup ... She led G-A in extra-base hits (12), RBIs, hits, doubles and home runs ... She helped handle a trio of talented starting pitchers ... She was an MPC Capital first-team pick.

KAYLEE POOLE, SS, James Buchanan

Notes: A Public Opinion second-team pick last year, Poole makes the jump to first team this season ... Poole was a key ingredient in the Rockets' veteran lineup ... The senior was a Mid Penn Capital Division first-team selection.

DANI MILLER, OF, Waynesboro

Notes: Miller helped lead the Maidens back to the District 3 playoffs ... A first-team P.O. pick a year ago, Miller didn't disappoint in her junior season ... Miller led all Maidens in extra-base hits ... She was a MPC Colonial Division first-team all-star.
Quotes: Maidens coach Doug Stuart said, "You hate to put pressure on kids, but our team was as good as Dani was. When she got on base, we usually won."
KAYLEE WERNER, OF, Chambersburg

Notes: Werner is a 2-time Public Opinion first-team selection ... The junior led the team in hits and tied for the team lead in RBIs ... Hitting cleanup, she produced 7 extra-base hits ... Werner was also an MPC Commonwealth first-team pick.

Notes: The sophomore was at her best in the postseason ... She struck out 8 in 8 innings against Donegal in districts and fanned 10 against 1 walk in a win over Lower Dauphin in Mid Penns.

Quotes: Ship coach Mike Peters said, "Taylor had a great season and really came through at the plate. She was near the top of the Mid Penn with 21 RBIs, many of them coming in key situations. TK was simply outstanding. She had only seven strikeouts in 59 at-bats and always made the oppposing pitcher and defense work."
