The York Daily Record/Sunday News has announced its 2009 Div. III softball all-stars

PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
Paige Sacripont, West York: The senior went 15-5 on the hill for the division champs, posting 10 shutouts along the way. She struck out 154 batters in 109 innings, while yielding just seven walks and 14 runs.

She also hit .393 and was on base 50 percent of the time this season. She had nine RBIs and a .970 fielding percentage.
Lauren Shaffer, West York: The second baseman posted a .574 batting average and .600 on-base percentage, but was more known for being an outstanding run producer.

The senior extra-base machine drove in 38 runs, thanks in part to her 11 doubles, five triples and five home runs.

ALL-STARS
Alee Barsella, Littlestown: A terrific shortstop and hitter for the second-place Thunderbolts, the senior scored 24 runs with 23 hits and a .414 average. She also had three triples and a pair of home runs.
Paige Dennison, Bermudian Springs: The freshman shortstop batted .465 with 27 hits, including two doubles, three triples and two home runs. She scored 21 runs and drove in 29, while striking out only six times.
Autumn Ensor, Bermudian Springs: Earned 10 wins this season, while hitting .492 (30-of-61) and posting a .667 on-base percentage. The junior had three triples, drove in 29 runs and scored 17 times.
Anna Forsythe, Littlestown: A key component in a great turnaround season for the Bolts. The senior battled hitters all season long as a pitcher who helped the team go from 2-15 last season to the 2009 district playoffs.
Sara Gohn, West York: Only a sophomore, the catcher was an outstanding receiver, but could hit, too, as her .516 average, .618 on base percentage, five triples, three home runs and 21 RBIs indicate.
Kahla Lutz, West York: Notched a .410 batting average with 19 RBIs while providing leadership at the shortstop position. The senior had seven triples, two doubles and two homers.
Taryn Nace, Eastern York: Hit .456 with four doubles, three triples and two home runs. The senior tossed a five-inning no-hitter over York Suburban, and had a home run and two triples in a win over Biglerville.
Tiff Stambaugh, West York: The junior hit .444 with an on-base percentage of .574. She had seven extra-base hits (4 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run) while playing a solid third base.
Emily Tay, York Suburban: The junior co-captain hit .420 in the lead-off spot for the Trojans and stole 11 bases, all while playing a stellar shortstop.
