West Chester Henderson opened its Ches-Mont League National Division wrestling season with a 39-28 win over visiting Avon Grove on Wednesday.

It was the first league victory for new Henderson head coach Rob Beighley, and kept the Warriors unbeaten at 6-0.

Jimmy McDonald (285), Kyle Medrow (120), Joey Wilson (126), Brad Patton (160), and Max Sontag (170) all registered falls to lead Henderson.

Josh Nichter (132) and Duncan Smucker (138) earned close decisions.

Avon Grove fell in its league opener despite pins by Caleb Edwards (182) and Ryan Hoffman (220).

Great Valley's Colin McNamara won the 200 free (1:52.26) and was second in the 100 free (50.84).
