First Team:
COLIN BYRNE, Gettysburg - Sr.: Byrne, the Warriors' top defender, helped Gettysburg to the No. 23 seed in the District 3 Class AAA tournament. The senior was a key part of the Warriors' success as Gettysburg started the season with three consecutive shutouts. Byrne scored four goals and two assists.
DICKSON MORRIS, Hanover - Sr.: Morris scored 13 of the Nighthawks' 16 goals this season and, despite the team's winless record, proved to be Hanover's ray of hope all season. Morris scored a hat trick in a 5-3 loss to Littlestown and four goals in a 5-4 loss to Biglerville.
LUIS GALLEGOS, Bermudian Springs - Jr.: Gallegos, the Eagles' top striker, led the team in goals (17) and assists (five) as Bermudian Springs advanced to the second round of the District 3 Class AA tournament. Gallegos scored a hat trick, including a pair of goals in 27 seconds. in a 7-3 win over Littlestown.
DERRICK ROY, Spring Grove - Jr.: Roy, a first-team All-Area selection last year, led the Rockets with a team-high 23 goals and eight assists to earn Player of the Year honors. Roy, the Rocket coach's son, netted both of his team's goals in a 2-1 win over Central York earlier this season.
MATT GUISE, Biglerville - Sr.: Guise scored a pair of goals from fellow first-team selection Alex Lua in a 3-1 win over West York during the YAIAA quarterfinals. The Canner midfielder scored four goals and added a team-high seven assists. Guise served
TYLER SHAFFER, Biglerville - Jr.: Shaffer helped lead Biglerville's scoring attack this year, finishing with 11 goals and two assists. Shaffer scored the team's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Camp Hill during the finals of the District 3 Class A championship, but the Canners were still able to qualify for the state playoffs.
GREG HESS, South Western - Sr.: Hess, an All-Area first team selection in 2007, had back-to-back 16-goal seasons for the Mustangs. Hess also contributed six assists for South Western, which struggled to a 5-7 league record in YAIAA Division 1.
ZACH TARBOX, Gettysburg - Fr.: Tarbox led the Warriors with 14 goals and added six assists, propelling Gettysburg to an appearance in the District 3 Class AAA tournament. Tarbox scored a hat trick in the first half against Susquehanna Township. Tarbox and second-team selection Bryce Shaffer combined for 26 of the team's 42 goals.
COLE HOUSER, Spring Grove - Sr.: Houser, a midfielder for the Rockets, helped Spring Grove to a 7-5 record in YAIAA Division I and a berth in the District 3 Class AAA playoffs. Houser scored four goals and seven assists for the Rockets, including an assist to Derrick Roy for a game-winner against Central York.
JOSH KERN, Fairfield - Sr.: Kern, a midfielder, scored 16 goals and added seven assists for the Green Knights. Kern was a 2007 All-Area first-team selection and was a key reason why his brother, Sam, scored 25 goals this year. In a 2-1 win over Biglerville, Josh assisted Sam on a key goal to put the game out of reach.
ALEX LUA, Biglerville - Jr.: Lua edged fellow teammate and first-team All-Area selection Tyler Shaffer to lead the Canners in goals scored with 12. Lua, a striker, added three assists to cap a successful season for Biglerville, which made an appearance in the PIAA Class A playoffs.
