The York Daily Record/Sunday News has unveiled its 2009 Division III boys' cross country all-stars.

RUNNER OF THE YEAR

Jesse Wool, Bermudian Springs: The senior, in just his second year of cross country, led all Division III runners at the YAIAA meet, clocking a 17:24 to finish 15th.

The Eagles' top runner then led his team with a 24th place finish (18:28) in the District 3 Class AA meet to qualify for the state meet, where he finished 78th (17:59).

During the regular season, Wool won a quad meet with a time of 17:20, 50 seconds better than his previous best.

ALL-STARS

TJ Coleman, Delone Catholic: Another key cog in the Squires' championship season, the junior finished 49th in the District 3 Class AA with a time of 19:39.
David Roth, Delone Catholic: According to coach Scotty Watt, Roth stepped up when fellow all-star Chris Sauvageau went down with an injury. The junior ran a 18:29 in the league meet and finished 40th at districts (19:22).
Chris Sauvageau, Delone Catholic: Despite a hip injury, the junior turned in a sub-17 minute race in the regular season. The two-time all-star helped the Squires secure the division title, winning the deciding race against Bermudian Springs. He finished 39th in the district meet with a time of 19:18, the third division runner to cross the line.
Xavier Sauvageau, Littlestown: The freshman didn't compete in many races during the regular season because he played soccer, but he was Division III's top runner at the District 3 Class meet. Sauvageau placed 20th with a time of 18:12 to qualify for states, where he finished 114th (18:15).
James Vadas, York Catholic: The Fighting Irish sophomore ran a 18:22 to finish 39th in the YAIAA meet and ran a 19:40 at districts.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Scotty Watt, Delone Catholic: Watt coached his talented Squires to the division title with a 4-0 record and an overall record of 13-6. His squad went 9-6 against Class AAA schools -- the only Division III school which had a winning record against the large schools.
