The Southern Fulton boys basketball team captured the District 5 Class A championship on Friday night with a 53-45 victory over Tussey Mountain.

The Indians (22-3) will take on Serra Catholic (20-3), the fourth-place team out of a stacked District 7 playoff field, on Friday, March 12, in a PIAA Tournament game, site and time to be determined.

The Eagles, the No. 4 team in the state rankings last week, were upset by Lincoln Park 54-48 in the WPIAL Class A semifinals and were awarded fourth place after Lincoln Park lost to Sewickley Academy in the championship game.
