The Oley Valley High School girls' basketball team remained unbeaten on the season as they two a pair of games. The Lady Lynx are 2-0 in the Berks League and 5-0 overall.
On Dec. 21, the Lady Lynx traveled to Wyomissing for a Berks League battle. Oley Valley had no trouble in this game as it cruised to a 65-25 victory.
Oley took control of the game early, leading 20-6 after one quarter. The Lynx stretched the advantage to 24 by halftime, 36-12, then put the game away in the third quarter, outscoring their hosts, 23-6.
Amanda Rizzuti led the way for Boyertown with 21 points in the contest. Brandi Vallely contributed to the case with 20 points, while Victoria Moll scored 14. Amanda Aulenbach and Kayla Matuszak each added four points.
On Dec. 23, Oley Valley was back home to take on Twin Valley in a non-league game. This one was a lot tougher for Oley as Twin Valley gave the Lynx everything they had in the game. Still, Oley was able to come out with a 53-52 victory.
The Lady Lynx held a 30-21 halftime lead, but Twin Valley slowly came back to take the lead in the second half. But Oley was able to hold them off with some clutch shooting at the end.
Vallely was the leading scorer for Oley Valley with 19 points in the contest. Aulenbach was right behind her with 18 points and Rizzuti scored 11, including three three-point buckets. Moll chipped in with five points.
