
ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Kurt Seiders, South Western: Seiders could do it all for the Mustangs, whether it was hitting, playing defense or pitching. He hit .484 this season with 22 runs scored. On the mound, the junior was 2-2 with four saves.
ALL-STARS
Tyler Dreisbach, Central York: Dreisbach, one of three first-team all-stars from Central, hit .333 with 13 RBIs and 14 runs.
Matt Hockenberry, South Western: Hockenberry was 4-2 for a South Western team that won its District 3 Class AAAA play-in game as the 15th seed before losing to second-seeded Manheim Township.
Kurt Krout, Spring Grove: The Spring Grove outfielder scored 19 times and hit .321. He helped his team to a second-place finish in Division II.
Brandon Miller, Red Lion: Miller was one of the top hitters in Division I with a .404 batting average.
Josh Scott, Red Lion: The Lions pitcher had a 2.33 ERA to go with his 5-2 record.
TJ Shaffer, Central York: A first-team all-star last year at shortstop, Shaffer returned to hit .371 with four home runs as a senior outfielder. He also scored 23 runs and had 19 RBIs for the Panthers.
Pat Shannon, South Western: The Mustangs outfielder hit .400 with 15 RBIs and 11 runs. He also had six doubles.
Paul Smith, Spring Grove: The Spring Grove catcher hit .351 with 13 RBIs. He also helped the Rockets to a second-place finish in Division I.
Colin Porter, South Western: An infielder, Porter scored 17 runs and hit .349.
Brandon Workinger, Central York: The Central infielder hit .356 with 14 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
Honorable mention: Cole Heffner, Red Lion; Kelvin Bejaran, William Penn; Cavan O'Reilly, South Western; Matt Varner, Central York; David Gale, Central York; Ben Reigart, Spring Grove; Jon Macken, Red Lion; Franklin Hernandez, William Penn; Zach Smeltzer, Spring Grove; Mark Shoff, Dallastown.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Mike Valencik, Central York: Valencik's team took the division title, going 10-4 in the YAIAA. The Panthers' season came to a close, losing by only one run, to Reading in the Class AAAA first round of the District 3 tournament. Central was 12-9 overall.
