ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Devin Dellinger, Dover: Dellinger, a junior catcher, helped the Eagles to a second-place finish in Division II of the YAIAA and made the all-star team for a second straight year. He hit .415, had a .510 on-base percentage and had a .634 slugging percentage. "He probably didn't see as many pitches this year as he did last year," Dover coach Mat Eckenroth said. "He was pretty much the glue to our team." This summer, the Division II Player of the Year is keeping busy with a travel league and American Legion ball, and the Central League, too.
ALL-STARS
Mitch Collins, New Oxford: The Colonials' senior designated hitter had a .311 batting average with three doubles.
Dan Dierdorff, Northeastern: With Division I colleges calling, Dierdorff held opponents to a .165 batting average. He also had 44 strikeouts in 28 innings while going 3-1 with a 1.71 ERA.
Peter Grove, Susquehannock: A senior outfielder, Grove had a .513 on-base percentage. He hit .339 and had 18 walks.
Cassidy Hershey, New Oxford: Hershey had a .353 batting average as an outfielder this season for New Oxford. Even better news for the Colonials, he's slated to return for a senior season.
Kyle Kessler, Northeastern: The Bobcats' senior infielder hit .403 with 19 runs scored. He also had 16 RBIs, a .532 slugging percentage and a .459 on-base percentage.
Ty Krebs, Northeastern: Northeastern's catcher hit .464 as a senior. He threw out eight runners defensively, while adding 17 RBIs and drawing 15 walks offensively.
John-Claude Lacroix, Susquehannock: A junior infielder, Lacroix's .971 fielding percentage made him close to a sure thing on defense. Offensively, he hit .308.
Chad Mohr, Northeastern: The senior infielder hit .405 with 14 runs scored. He also converted 13 of 14 stolen-base attempts.
Paul Rogerson, Dover: Rogerson, a junior pitcher, was 4-3 with a save. He also had three complete games, throwing 40 strikeouts in 402/3 innings. He had a 2.93 ERA to go with a 1.30 WHIP.
Matt Vaupel, West York: The Bulldogs' senior outfielder stole 15 bases -- on 15 attempts. He also hit .315 with 12 runs scored.
Zach Zambito, West York: A senior infielder, Zambito converted 13 of 14 steal attempts and hit .304. He also had 11 RBIs and a .418 on-base percentage.
Honorable mention: Anthony Goldhammer, New Oxford; Eric Maul, West York; Greg Harris, Dover; Cody Boren, West York; Brady Bain, Northeastern.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Don Kauffman, Northeastern: With an excellent pitching staff, Kauffman coached the Bobcats to not only a Division II championship in the regular season, but also a YAIAA tournament title. Northeastern's season, however, was cut short with a first-round upset by Manheim Central in district play. The Bobcats earned the No. 1 seed.
