The Chambersburg wrestling team rebounded from a heartbreaking one-point defeat against Big Spring in fine fashion, rolling to a 66-12 Mid Penn Colonial Division victory over Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon at Trojan Field House.

The Trojans (5-2, 3-2 MPC) racked up three pins and received seven forfeits from the Warriors.

"There's not much to say about this one. They are in a little bit of a down cycle right now," Chambersburg coach Doug Rine said.

Chase Wenger got the Trojans started right at 140 points, picking up a pin in 1:48. Still leading 12-6, Chambersburg received forfeits in four straight bouts from 160 to 215 and Dawson Peck (285) followed that up with a pin over Gettysburg's Chad Love.

The second-period pin gave Chambersburg a 42-6 advantage.

The best match came at 130 pounds, where the Trojans' Jimmy Hughes took on Justin Amato. A first-period takedown and a third-period escape helped Hughes notch a hard-fought 3-2 decision.

"There was a lot of sliding and gliding going on in that match," Rine said. "They are two good kids going against one another. The counter wrestling was outstanding."

Ian Hammond earned a 10-4 decision at 125 pounds for Chambersburg and Alex Duke notched a pin at 135.
