A pair of area girls volleyball players were named the best in their division when the Mid Penn Conference all-stars were released recently.

In the Commonwealth Division, Morgan Lehman of Chambersburg earned MVP honors after a fine senior season at outside hitter. She was joined on the first team by senior middle hitter Brianne Rice.

Freshman middle hitter Liashira Rivera was second team for the Trojans and freshman setter Aryn Rebok was honorable mention.

In the Capital Division, Greencastle-Antrim senior outside hitter Kelsey Gearhart was tabbed MVP while her coach, Corry Eagler, was coach of the year. The Blue Devils went undefeated in the regular season.

Joining Gearhart on the first team was her sister, freshman middle hitter Nakita, and junior setter Erin Garns.

James Buchanan placed senior outside hitter Sarah Harryman and junior middle hitter Toryn Quivers on the first team.

Second-team players were G-A's Katy Bobbitt and JB's Erin Defibaugh and Leland Espinoza. Sami Rudy of the Blue Devils was also honorable mention.

In the Colonial Division, Shippensburg's Amy Rosenberry and Bryce Arnold were second-team selections and teammates Aunjel VanBrakle and Caitlyn Weltz were picked honorable mention.

For Waynesboro, Molly Geiger was a second-team pick.

The Public Opinion girls volleyball all-star team will be published Nov. 25.
