MILLERSVILLE -- The Chambersburg Trojans girls volleyball team opened District 3 Class AAA play in impressive fashion Saturday, blanking Northeastern, 3-0, in a preliminary-round match.
The victory advanced the Trojans (14-8) to district pool play Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at Dallastown High School.
Trojan coach Ty Frelin said, "We came out and played a pretty solid match. It was the first time in districts for many of the younger players. Our senior leadership came through today. We did a nice job passing the ball and playing defense."
For Chambersburg, Morgan Lehman filled up the box score (13 kills, 2 blocks, 2 block kills, 9 digs and 2 aces), as did Liashira Rivera (6 kills, 2 blocks, 1 block kill, 5 digs, 12 service points and 4 aces).
Other Trojan producers included Brianne Rice (5 kills, 4 blocks, 3 block kills, 9 digs, 11 service points, 2 aces) and Aryn Rebok (26 kill assists, 10 digs, 1 block, 1 ace).
