However, both Morgan Pfaff of Red Lion and Julie Brown of Dallastown admitted to being a little disappointed by their respective performances.
Pfaff swam a 2:07.28 in the 200 individual medley. Although it was a little off from her seed time, it was still good for a solid second-place finish considering the circumstances. Winner Emily Cameron, a Warwick freshman, smashed a district record with a 2:01.67.
"I did the best I could, but it wasn't my best time," Pfaff said. "You can't get down on yourself for one swim."
The sophomore knows she has a shot at redemption in today's 100 backstroke, where she is seeded second.
Pfaff said she used the advice of her York YMCA coach, Michael Brooks, to put the swim in the past.
"You get five minutes to mope, then it is time to move on," she said, quoting Brooks. "I have another swim, it's another chance. I made it to states, so that's not bad."
Brown also will be swimming at the PIAA meet after a stellar 24.11 in the 50 free. While the senior felt a little down because she entered the event as the top seed, she recognizes that her time was still a good one.
"All things considered it's good," she said. "I was a little more tense than at the county meet. You come up to districts there is more competition. Everyone swims so well here."
Still, she had to have her recovery time as well. However, the co-captain knew she was going to be counted on at the end of the night, so any negativity disappeared quickly.
"I sat and stewed a little. But being part of the relay team, the girls were so excited," Brown said.
She started the 200 free relay, followed by Shelley O'Conor, Jen Flinchbaugh and Laura Miller. The foursome finished fourth in 1:39.41, a time that may qualify for states.
One Wildcat that was not disappointed was Gerard Woody. The junior notched a third-place medal in the boys' 100 fly with his state-qualifying time of 52.72.
"From where I started to go 52, I am pleased," Woody said. "There are things I can work on, but I made states. That was my goal when the season started."
Historic medals for Panthers: Central York won the first boys' relay medals in school history Friday by placing seventh in the 200 medley and eighth in the 200 free.
John Ingari, Jake Snook, Brandon Murphy and Evan Fisher swam a 1:45.08 in the medley. The 200 free touched in 1:31.26 behind Ingari, Zach Cauchon, Fisher and Murphy.
Both are school records, which has become commonplace this season for the Panthers and coach Greg Wimmer.
Six is the number: Dallastown's Alex Pandelidis earned a six-place medal in the boys' 200 free with his 1:47.54, the same position as the 200 free relay's 1:29.09, that featured Pandelidis combining with John Hudish, Ever Gonzalez and Woody.
Allie Jenkins of Spring Grove -- who swam 2:11.49 in the girls' 200 IM -- and Central's Murphy in the boys' 50 free (21.87) also finished sixth.
Other YAIAA medals: O'Conor, Karley Marquet, Miller and Flinchbaugh reached the medal stand by finishing seventh in the opening medley relay (1:53.08). ... Steve Paine, Derek Peiffer, Chard Howley and Hudish (1:45.74) placed eighth in the boys' medley.
District records: In addition to Cameron, Wilson led off the AAA portion by breaking both the girls' and boys' medley relay records, and the Bulldogs' Caitlyn Karr did the trick in the girls' 200 freestyle and Nathaniel Savoy in the boys' IM. For good measure the Wilson girls did the trick in the 200 free relay.
