Emily Weaner produced two Hanover-area season-best times this season and led the Gettysburg High girls swimming team to a 119-47 victory over Susquehanna Township on Monday at Gettysburg College.
The victory improved Gettysburg to 4-1, including 2-0 in the Mid-Penn Keystone Division.
Weaner won the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 16.39 seconds to claim the best time in the Hanover area so far this season. She also posted a season-best time of 5:18.87 in the 500 freestyle.
Weaner and teammates Emily Beamer and Emily Ondrizek each recorded four triumphs, including roles on the winning 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams.
Nicole Weikert and Eileen Curley each added individual victories and both swam on the winning 400 freestyle relay team.
Boys:
SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP 92, GETTYSBURG 77: In the make-up meet from an earlier postponement, Susquehanna Township edged Gettysburg (2-3. 0-2 Mid-Penn Keystone) even though Gettysburg outscored the Indians 19-11 over the final two events.
The Warriors were led by Justin Beegle, whose two victories included a Hanover area season-best time of 1:05.87 in the 100 breaststroke.
Jon Hartzel won the 500 freestyle and joined the winning 400 freestyle relay for Gettysburg. Teammate Max Kalinkin also won an event.
