It took most of Thursday's meet for South Western High's girls to track down Dover, but the Lady Mustangs found strength in numbers.

Placing two of the top three teams in the 200-yard freestyle relay, the Lady Mustangs claimed their first triumph over Dover since 2000 with a 96-88 triumph at Emory H. Markle Intermediate School.

South Western (2-0) grabbed the lead when the foursome of Megan Shannon, Aubrey Krueger, Kristen Zartman and Larissa Danelle won the relay in 1:46.66. The Lady Mustangs then added two points from its third-place team of Alli Meyer, Kaybrea Hood, Allison Farley and Julia Gilchrist.

South Western then cemented its edge by taking three of the top four spots in the 100-yard backstroke, which was led by sophomore Austyn Grim.

Danelle added a win in the 200-yard individual medley while Shannon took the 100 freestyle.

Christy Cashman's two triumphs led Dover.

BOILING SPRINGS 117, GETTYSBURG 66: At Boiling Springs, Gettysburg, missing PIAA Championships qualifier Emily Weaner, lost to the host Bubblers.

Emily Ondrizek won the 200 freestyle and Emily Beamer took the 100 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley for the Lady Warriors (2-1).

Weaner and Gettysburg teammate Justin Beegle both are competing with the West Shore YMCA this weekend in the Speedo Junior National Championships in Austin, Texas.

Eric Naylor and Andy Woods each won two individual events to lead Dover past South Western (1-1).

The Mustangs were paced by Brandon Shaffer, who took the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle. Diver Chris Green also placed first for South Western.

BOILING SPRINGS 125, GETTYSBURG 52: At Boiling Springs, the host Bubblers limited Gettysburg (2-1) to two first-place swims in a defeat of the Warriors.

Tanner Newcomb won the 100 butterfly and Ted Kalinkin took the 100 breaststroke for the Warriors.
