Governor Mifflin scored twice in the second half to break a halftime tie and eliminate West York, 4-2, in a District 3 Class AAA first-round girls' soccer match Wednesday.

Meghan Sacco finished with two goals for the Berks County Division I champions. Ella Jones and Stephanie Martin also scored for fifth-seeded Mifflin (20-1). Emma Blair and Lauren Pietrowski each added an assist for the host Mustangs, who outshot West York 11-5.

Shyanne Kimbrough and Amanda Cheak provided the scoring for 12th-seeded West York. Goalkeeper Stevie Gross finished with six saves.

Mifflin will face Northern York in a quarterfinal match on Saturday at a time and place to be determined. West York, the YAIAA Division II co-champion, ends its season with a 12-5-1 record.

Class AA First Round
   --- Harrisburg Christian 2, Eastern York 1: Seventh-ranked Harrisburg Christian clung to a 2-0 advantage in the second half to hold off the 10th-ranked Golden Knights during first-round play at In the Net in Palmyra.

Chelsey Mowrey managed to get Eastern on the board with 13 minutes remaining in the second half, thanks to a throw-in assist from Carroll Charles to the back post.

Alison Parlin, who helped Harrisburg Christian win the Commonwealth Christian Athletic Conference championship Saturday with an overtime goal, put Harrisburg Christian up 1-0 at halftime with a first-period assist from Creslyn Van Dyck after 35 minutes of scoreless play.

Cassidy Layman saved 14 goals for the Golden Knights, while Harrisburg Christian goalie Kelsey Caylor saved 10.

Katie Fitzgerald and Brittany Hummel each had a goal and assist, while Katelyn McDonald had two assists for Fairfield.

The Green Knights outshot High Point Baptist Academy 16-9 and had an 11-0 advantage in corners.

Amelia Ford and Katy Herl combined for six Fairfield saves, while goalie Francheska Hartenstine saved four for High Point Baptist Academy.
