Boys' Golfer of the Year
Brandon Greenplate, Dallastown: A senior four-time All-Star and two-time Player of the Year, Greenplate led Division I with a 76.00 scoring average shooting a season low 73 at South Hills. He also qualified for the District 3 tournament, where he shot a 79 that placed him in a tie for 23rd.
Greenplate along with fellow senior All-Star Byron Markle helped lead Dallastown to a runaway Division I championship.
Girls' Golfer of the Year
Victoria Ross, Spring Grove: Ross, a junior, won her second straight YAIAA individual championship with a round of 72 -- 10 strokes better than her regular-season average of 82.0. In District 3 play she shot rounds of 74 and 75 to earn third place and qualify for the regional tournament, where she shot an 88 to finish in a tie for 17th.
"It was disappointing," coach Dave Childress said of the regional showing. "I think she was disappointed, but Tori's thing right now is to prepare herself for the college level. To miss out like that is a learning experience. Sometimes losing like that is a good thing."
