Division I

Player of the Year

Ali Posey, Red Lion: Lions coach Carol Gillmen called Posey "the most prolific scorer ever to play field hockey in the YAIAA," and the numbers support that claim.

Posey won her third YAIAA Division I Player of the Year award after scoring 26 goals and adding eight assists this season. She capped her brilliant career with 85 goals and 29 assists.

Her speed and stick skills made her difficult to contain, although Gillmen said Posey's success didn't come by accident.

"Her stick skills, scoring ability and relentless play make her invaluable," Gillmen said. "Ali dominates the field of play and was the dynamic player that is she through her play at the club level."

Posey was a member of the LANCO team that won a national indoor championship last winter, although she doesn't limit herself to field hockey. She was also a second team all-star outfielder for the Lions' softball team in the spring.
