HERSHEY -- For three quarters, in their District 3 Class A boys' basketball tournament quarterfinal, the New Hope Mighty Ants were just that -- mighty.

Unfortunately for the second-year program, Lebanon Catholic has been down this road many times before.

Trailing by one early in the third at Milton Hershey School, New Hope watched as the Beavers launched 3-pointers on consecutive trips down the floor.

That forced the Ants to press some and it spelled doom for the young squad as Lebanon Catholic went on to a 74-61 victory and a berth in the semifinals.

The Beavers (14-10) will play the winner of tonight's Greenwood vs. Camp Hill game in Monday's 7:30 p.m. semifinal at Lower Dauphin High School.

New Hope coach Sam Sutton saw his squad's season end with a 17-3 record, although he knew it was a learning experience.

"It takes maturity and experience to know there is still a lot of time left to play," he said. "Those 3s gave them a boost of confidence."

The Ants were led by Dejian Williams' game-high 17 points. C.J. Smith and Hakeen Moore added 13 in the defeat.

Zach Arnold led Lebanon Catholic with 14 points. Darius Zook added 13.
