MECHANICSBURG -- Jamie Haas belted a home run over the fence in right-centerfield with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday to lift Mechanicsburg to a 2-1 extra-inning victory over Dauphin.

The win gives the Cardinals a 2-1 lead in their West Shore Twilight Baseball League first-round series. Game 4 is tonight in Dauphin.

The other two Sunday games -- Chambersburg at Cumberland and Enola at Newville -- were postponed. All three games begin at 5:45 tonight.

Haas' homer ruined a brilliant pitching performance by Dauphin's Chris Wirrick. He allowed just two hits in 81/3 innings, walked three and struck out five. Mechanicsburg (24-12) scored in the third when Ryan Melick led off with a double and came around on ground balls by Ben Anderson and Artie Figueroa.

Lee McClintock gave up six hits, but just one unearned run to earn the win. He fanned eight and walked one.

Dauphin (19-17) scored its run in the third. Jason Harshberger walked and stole second, and scored when an infield single by Tim Wenrich was booted.

Wenrich and Bobby Kohl each were 2-for-4 for Dauphin, which had runners at second and third with one out in the second and failed to score.
